Finally - I'm done with selecting, culling and processing of the ~800 photos that I made during the two-week visit to southern Californa from mid to end of September.
I have no photos that work for me from the walk around Lake Poway. :-P The Coronado & Imperial Beach offered some great photo opportunities. La Jolla cove is a great spot for animal pictures. Then there's some photos from the trip to the (very nice) city of Santa Barbara and some more photos on the road. The tide pools at Laguna Beach were another lovely spot. Then it was chasing the sunrise at Joshua Tree National Park and some snapshot at the entrace to Indian Canyons in Palm Springs. The second day in Joshua Tree NP brought some Mojave desert hiking from Cottonwood Springs to the Lost Palms Oasis and back via Mastodon Peak. My personal highlight was the Salton Sea - a weird and fascinating (and smelly!:-) place. And it ended were it started, in San Diego, for some wonderful sunset photos at the Torrey Pines State Beach (the above photo was taken there at a spot called "Flat Rock").
Thanks to all the people that I've met, the new friends that I made through Picasa Web Albums (and photography), for making this possible. I left California deeply impressed by the landscape, the light, and most of all, the friendly people everywhere.
